Shibari

My
Approach
At the heart of Anna’s pedagogy is an embodied, mindful teaching style that honours both the physical and emotional dimensions of tying.
Her classes explore the meeting point between body and emotion, inviting participants to cultivate sensitivity to sensation, awareness, and authentic expression. Students are encouraged to remain curious about their own inner experience while staying attuned to the relational field created through touch, movement, and presence.
A central framework in Anna’s teaching is the
Four Elements — Earth, Water, Fire, and Air.
These elements form a grid through which she teaches Shibari as a movement practice. Understanding movement is paramount to understanding how scenes are built, how communication unfolds, and how emotional landscapes are shaped. Through this elemental framework, students learn to create scenes with clarity, depth, and emotional coherence.
The result is a practice where Shibari becomes a nuanced, expressive art form—one that weaves together movement, emotion, intention, and connection into powerful, embodied experiences.
