Private Tuition
Shibari or Kinbaku is an inherently risky form of play and requires a solid foundation of skills and knowledge to navigate and mitigate those risks. Learning how to tie is a lot like learning an instrument or learning how to dance. You will need a certain amount of technique to be able to express yourself (on both sides of the rope) but once you have a good foundation and understanding this practice will hold magic.
In private classes we can tailor the pace and the learning content to your individual needs or you can book one of the packages below that contain pre-defined content according to what is requested the most when you start out. I usually teach in increments of 3 hours + as this has been proven to be the best time frame. However, if you can't do 3h increments, please let me know and we'll find a format that suits you. Get in touch!
Individual Classes (3h+)
Here you decide what you want to learn and focus on as well as the time you want to book for. I usually teach in increments of 3h but you can also book 1/2 day, 5h+, a day or full weekends. Please get in touch to discuss your wishes and requirements.

Introduction to Shibari, its history/roots, it's different styles and my approach to it. You have the chance try out simple ties yourself and to ask all the questions you might have. (Single or couple)

In this course you'll learn the fundamentals of Shibari, rope handling, single column and double column tie, basic frictioning, basic body movement and simple yet effective harnesses for floor ties. Please bring a tying partner/model for this course.
(How you structure the 6h is up to you and your learning style - 2x3h, 3x2h, 1 day, etc.)
Earth (9h total)
In this course you'll learn working on the floor. We'll deepen the knowledge of the Fundamentals Course and add on to this with more complex harnesses and technique. But you'll also learn how to connect with your partner on a deeper level, play with intention and communicate effectively. Please bring a tying partner/model for this course. Gote (9h total)
In this course you'll learn the iconic tie, the Takate Kote (hands behind the back) that is a requirement for many workshops and classes. You'll also learn in depth about health considerations like shoulders and nerves and how to mitigate the risks. The Gote is a tie of infinite depth. Seemingly simply, yet very complex. This is a first dive into familiarising yourself with it. Please bring a tying partner/model for this course.
(How you structure the 9h is up to you and your learning style)
Gote Clinic (6h total)
This is a class ideally suited for those who seek to be able to adapt their Gote even more individually to their tying partners or for models who've had bad experiences and/or developed a fear of Gotes. We'll look at different styles of Gotes and their application and into your individual needs. Please bring a tying partner/model for this course.
(How you structure the 6h is up to you and your learning style)
Water (9h total)
This course takes you into partials and semi-suspension. You'll learn what makes a harness structurally sound for suspension, how to attach and securely lock off uplines. We'll revisit body handling but this time in partials, how to be and keep being present with your partner and communicate effectively and if time allows, throw bamboo into the mix. Please bring a tying partner/model for this course.
(How you structure the 9h is up to you and your learning style)
Note: Shibari is an activity that takes two people and the willingness to establish an honest and caring connection and thus all my classes and courses are designed for you to come in a pair. Should you for some reason not be able to come with a partner - you are travelling, you partner is ill or unavailable - please let me know in advance and I can help to find a model.
Shibari Sessions
A Holistic Journey of Body, Mind, and Spirit
Shibari sessions are thoughtfully approached with a holistic mindset, embracing the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit. These experiences are usually woven into the fabric of intimacy coaching or bodywork, creating a safe and nurturing environment for personal exploration and growth.
We'll start by having a heartfelt conversation about your current life experiences and how they might inform our session. This dialogue helps tailor the experience to your unique needs.
The session opens with a tender introduction, allowing our bodies and nervous systems to harmonize. Through soft touch and movement, we create a foundation of trust and comfort.
As we progress, you'll be enveloped in the tie with the utmost care, compassion, and kindness, creating a cocoon of safety and warmth.
Upon request, we can integrate bodywork, providing moments of deep relaxation and integration. This is your time to fully express and release – whether through gentle movement, emotional release, or simply being present in the moment.
The session concludes with grounding techniques to help you transition back to your everyday awareness, feeling centred and renewed. This experience is designed to honour your whole being, offering a space for profound connection, release, and personal insight.
Please get in touch to discuss details.
For Organisers and Venue Owners
Workshops
I travel regularly across Europe and internationally to give workshops and am available for bookings for workshops, conferences and retreats. You can see the topics I've taught in the past here. If you are interested in booking me for teaching in your community, please get in touch to discuss details. I am happy to tailor workshops to suit the level and interests of your group or community.
To get an impression of my offerings, find below examples of workshops and topics that I'm passionate about teaching. My approach to rope is informed by my background in dance and in linguistics as well as by my tantric and yogic practices. I am passionate about bringing myself, my learning and my life into rope and as such my rope teaching is inherently interdisciplinary and holistic in its view. That means I always address both sides of the rope and keep a firm eye on emotional, psychological and communicational aspects as these build the foundation onto which we can tie.
